7 Night Safari – Chem Chem and Mwiba

Spend 7 nights on safari in Tanzania, staying at Chem Chem Lodge and Mwiba Lodge – both set in private concession areas bordering Tarangire and Serengeti National Parks respectively. Enjoy exclusive access with low visitor numbers where you have almost complete freedom in some of the best game viewing areas in Tanzania.

Each group has use of a private 4×4 safari vehicle with guide allowing you to set your schedule in consultation with your guide. Spend as much or as little time game viewing as you wish. The private concessions lie adjacent to the parks with no fences which means animals are free to roam between the areas. Lots of activities are on offer: Run with the Masai, hunt with the Hadzabe bushmen, walk with professional guides, go on night drives or relax by the pool or enjoy some time in the spa. You will wish you had stayed longer, no matter how long you visit.

Tarangire National Park is famous for its elephant herds, hauntingly beautiful baobab trees, unbelievable birdlife and all the most well known animal species. In Mwiba Wildlife Reserve, you have access to a massive area accessed only by lodge guests also to the adjacent Southern Serengeti plains and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Mwiba is a refuge from the open plains of the Serengeti, where herds of buffalo mingle with elephant, big cats and even Roan antelope which you will not see in Serengeti. Interspersed with rocky outcrops and hidden watering points, animals are drawn to Mwiba especially in the dry season.

During the green season, the mighty Wildebeest migration moves in and out of the area and settles down on Serengeti’s short grass plains, a short drive away.

Little Chem Chem 13
Chem Chem Concession lies between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara within a wildlife migration corridor. There are 3 properties that serve this area which also has access to Tarangire National Park. These are the flagship Chem Chem Lodge, Little Chem Chem Tented Camp and Forest Chem Chem which is for exclusive use by private groups. The concession is frequented by big elephant and other game and offers a degree of exclusivity compared with Next door Tarangire National Park.
Mwiba Lodge Guest Room
Mwiba Lodge is set on rocks above a waterhole within its very own Mwiba Wildlife Reserve which is privately managed. The reserve is an important dry-season reserve for big game in the Southern Serengeti ecosystem due to its many natural springs and waterholes that have water year round. Home to herds of elephant, buffalo and the big cats, a visit to the reserve will make you feel like stepping back in time.
